For their first visit to the Chaise-Dieu Festival, the Tempête company, conducted by Simon-Pierre Bestion, takes us on a dreamlike journey through the thousand-year-old Orthodox tradition, with a visceral performance and intimate setting of Rachmaninov's Vespers (also known as All-Night Vigils), a monument to choral singing, which the performers have set here in resonance with the immemorial hymns of Orthodox Byzantine chant, in a grandiose communion of voices and spirits.
