Made famous by his works for the piano, Rachmaninov was also a great symphonic composer, as demonstrated by his Symphony no.2, written in Moscow in 1907, which has been chosen for this occasion by Aziz Shokhakimov and his magnificent Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg. Before that, the highly talented Ukrainian violinist Dmytro Udovychenko, First Prize winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2024, will perform Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, the absolute masterpiece of the violin repertoire.
